The Road To Recovery
This past year has been like no other, for everyone. It has sparked confusion, anxiety, and worrying thoughts for a lot of people. Hopefully though, as we head closer to June 21st this can come to an end. Here at Baby Birds we have seen many changes to the business and have also been impacted by the past years events. Clapping for carers, baking banana bread and wearing masks are just a few of the changes we have seen. Fortunately we have been able to stay open during this time, although at times it has been tough, we’re proud of the progress we have made and the continued support we offer to parents new and experienced during these difficult times.
We have had to make drastic and difficult decisions though. We have had to close our shop floor, have workers working from home, and lost business like many other businesses. We have seen the worries and confusion of new parents as they try to organise and plan for the future and the early stages of their babies lives. This has motivated us to keep going, to help where we can try and ease those tensions and anxieties we are seeing more of. We have been fortunate enough to add to our team during this time and get more help as our demand slowly increases as we head back to more simpler times.
We have had to adjust to ‘the new normal’. Wearing face masks in the office, doing virtual appointments and gallons of hand sanitizer with every product touched. It has been an uphill struggle, but as we carry on we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We have been excited to do face to face appointments and opening up our shop floor again woo! (With social distancing in place of course) since April 12th. We are really excited to have more of you back in our store and able to see hands on what new products we have in stock, and to see what projects we have been working on.
These new changes we have had to adjust to will stay with us, as the safety of our staff and customers are a great importance to us, so please bear with us if service or appointments take longer than usual. Visits to our store will be by booked appointments only, however we will accept some walk-ins if possible. we are sorry if this causes any inconvenience but we feel this is best for the safety of everyone involved for the time being. It also means we can take as much time as required to answer any questions, squash any fears and give demonstrations.
Adapting to this past year has thrown up new challenges and new possibilities for us. With more people being stuck at home we have seen more people are interacting with us through social media and virtual appointments are becoming more popular. We have had to adapt to these changes and we are now focusing much more on our social media presence, and also our demonstration videos. We are working hard to make our posts more interactive and informative than ever before. You can see our posts on our Facebook and Instagram pages and our videos on our Youtube channel, just search Baby Birds prams. Let us know how we’re doing, and if you have any recommendations or ideas. We love to hear from our customers, we really value your input and feedback, so check us out and let us know!
It’s been tough without a doubt, and your continued support really has helped us along through these times. We really appreciate every comment, post of review. So thank you. We are looking forward to getting back to some sort of normality or whatever the ‘new normal’ will hold for us. We hope to have you along for the journey with us. Here’s to a brighter future for us all.
